I've been teaching since 1992 and I know that what teachers need most are cover resources. Mostly I create 'print and go' cover lessons - standalone meaningful work to keep a class working when their teacher is busy with other things (or ill)

This lesson is for Year 9 / Year 10 - it is a differentiated paired translation activity. Students should be grouped in similar ability pairs - they have one sheet between 2 - student 1 is the more confident / higher achieving student of the pair. They then work together taking it in turns to write the translation while the other student checks, encourages and thinks aloud all the possible pitfalls of the sentence. The idea is that the students are verbalising their thought processes and working together rather than working individually and not discussing. The Second part of the activity is called Quiz Quiz trade me - students from the same ability group - I have roughly 10 in each group then pick up card same colour as work sheet and then ask someone else who has the same colour how to say in French something from the translation they have worked on. They question each other and then swap cards and find someone else to ask. Ability groups Blue / Green / Yellow - Let me know how it goes!
A check list to ensure that students are using all the structures to get the highest marks in terms of Range of Language. Phrases and structures are grouped by tense and show students the easiest structures using the infinitive. Je vais and J'ai can be substituted for other parts of the verb to use a range of people. SW+AG is my way of teaching etre verbs SWitch to use etre and AGreeV2 - with a couple of extras!
WS - Spanish Easter Wordsearch and secret code\nSpanish Easter Card 1\nSpanish Easter Card 2\n\nNB There is a small mistake on the Wordsearch - Chocolate - I missed an 'o&' - but changing it would be almost impossible and would mess up other words and secret message - so apologies!
